Helping teams create teams

Kids football is about creating opportunities for as many kids to play football as possible.  Often this is hindered by space available in teams, coaching numbers and the amount of pitches that are available.

Recently the Sheffield FA Junior League received an email from Rotherham Town under 13’s who were struggling to field a team for the 17/18 season, despite numerous adverts looking for players.

The League  received this email:

“Rotherham Town u13s have lost some players this year and with no new players coming to training (despite advertisements) we were concerned about getting a squad together for this coming season.

After contacting a number of other local clubs to see if they have turned down any players that we could bring into our team, Colin from Wickersley Youth has gone above and beyond to provide us names of some lads, not only helping us get a squad together but more importantly keeping some kids playing football that may not have been able to otherwise.  This reflects really well both on Colin and on Wickersley Youth as a club!”

With many thanks

It’s great to see managers within the club thinking outside the box and helping other teams find players that may not have been aware of the opportunities available to them.

Well done Col.
