Wickersley Youth U12 Girls Do It Again – Brinsworth Champions

Wickersley Youth Under 12 girls have completed a double by winning a second tournament in the last 2 weekends under the guidance of Geoff Swann and Oliver Dean.

Only 4 teams involved this week – but they were 4 of the biggest teams in the area,  Rotherham United, Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday.  The girls had to play everyone twice.

The girls topped the group with two 1-0 wins against Sheffield Wednesday, two 2-0 wins against Rotherham United and two 1-1 draws with Huddersfield Town making it won 4 drawn 2 in a very competitive group.

We then beat Huddersfield Town Ladies in the final with goals from Amelia Beckett and Maddison Lees. All 13 players were outstanding once again in searing temperatures throughout the day, a real squad effort once again.

This win making the girls double winners in back to back tournaments.

A fantastic achievement for the club.
